Nik Tyler was born and raised in New York City. Nik began his professional acting/singing career at age six. His early work includes two seasons with The New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, two consecutive seasons in the Mike Okrent/Susan Stroman Broadway production of "A Christmas Carol" at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden and two albums and a U.S. tour with the popular singing group, "The Broadway Kids".Nik has appeared on television as a musical guest on CBS's "Kathie Lee Gifford: We Need A Little Christmas" and CNBC's "America's Talking". His voice can be heard in dozens of national commercial jingles, including "Nike", "Tylenol", "Citi Bank" and "V8 Splash". Nik also played a principal role in the National Youth Anti-Smoking Campaign, "Two Little Words", that has aired on all the major networks.In 2002, Nik took a hiatus from show business to attend college at NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, where he majored in film. Currently, Nik lives in Los Angeles and works as an actor on both coasts. He has held guest starring and supporting roles on the CBS & NBC television dramas, "CSI", "ER", "Law & Order: SVU", "Law & Order" and "Conviction". His film credits include the horror film "Kill Katie Malone", the dark comedy "Off The Ledge", the bio-pic "Freeway Killer", the cop drama "Kilo" and the political thriller "Bold Native".In addition to acting, Nik maintains a strong passion for activism, particularly focusing on environmental issues and animal rights. He is a dedicated participant in the pursuit of a more peaceful and health-conscious planet.
He grew up on West Sixty-eighth street in NYC - two apartment buildings down from where James Dean lived.He attended The High School Of Performing Arts ("FAME") and NYU Tisch School Of The Arts in NYC.He is an accomplished fine artist whose abstract mixed media artwork + digital photography has been featured in private galleries in NYC, as well as displayed at The Brooklyn Museum Of Modern Art.He is a recipient of the Silver Key Award for "Excellence in Visual Art" by The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.He is a recipient of Rotary International; Paul Harris Fellowship Award, which was awarded by The Most Reverend Jean Marie Koznik, Bishop, Superior General of Fraternite Notre Dame.He is vegan.
